NBCUniversal's Global Media Operations (GMO) is responsible for managing the content supply chain of the company and key functions such as content ingest, QC, preparation, and fulfillment to meet the needs of our customers worldwide. GMO is seeking a Project Manager to lead several key initiatives across the department including but not limited to: Hardening and refreshing technical infrastructure, operationalizing AI and automation within our 24x7 supply chain, migrating workflows to new technology stacks, and overseeing the successful launch of new channels, services, or tentpole live events within the operation.

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and influencing cross-functional project teams across Operations, Product, Enterprise AI, and Engineering and aligning closely with our third-party vendors to deliver business-critical initiatives. The Project Manager will work closely with media technologies - automation systems, workflow tools, cloud-based storage and processing, and scheduling and order management systems - while developing a working knowledge of how the operation works today to drive the department's supply chain transformation strategy.

The Project Manager will be expected to use project management best practices such as task lists, issues lists, and project timelines. The Project Manager will host meetings, document workflows, develop test matrices, and oversee UAT. Additionally, the Project Manager will be responsible for all project updates and communication to stakeholders and senior leadership. A successful Project Manager will be detail oriented, an excellent communicator, accountable, manage all critical project details, and display high levels of ownership throughout.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years experience managing programs or large-scale projects with delivery accountability
  • Experience with Smartsheet/Airtable automation, project data visualization, or dashboarding.
  • Experience with overseeing automation initiatives, file-based workflows, & cloud-based technologies.

Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's Degree of 4 years equivalent experience in Media Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Communications.
  • 5 years of work experience in Broadcast, Media Technology, IT, or a media-related field.
  • 3+ years of experience managing projects in a Broadcast, Media Technology, IT, or a media-related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize AI to streamline project workflows, enhance decision making, and drive continuous process improvement
  • Proven track record of effectively managing tasks and tracking issues in a technical operation.
  • Experience leading project meetings and delivering executive-level presentations.
  • Experience with executive-level 'story' telling for large scale project/programs
  • Solid organizational skills with ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong presentation and communication skills; able to articulate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter that demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Must be proficient in Smartsheet, Jira, LucidChart, Airtable or similar tooling.

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work at one of our office hubs in either Los Angeles, NYC, Stamford or Dry Creek. Working hours are expected to be primarily East Coast business hours.
  • Ability to work off hours or on a flexible schedule as needed to best support the project.
  • This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
