Full Job Description
Position Overview

NANO Nuclear Energy is seeking a PM to own the execution of reactor deployment and development projects across the company's growing microreactor program. This role sits at the intersection of business and engineering, requiring someone who can drive cross-functional coordination, manage complex technical milestones, and deliver results in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Sr. PM and collaborate across engineering, operations, regulatory, legal, and business development teams to keep critical reactor development initiatives on track and aligned with company objectives.

This position is well suited for a results-oriented professional with experience managing complex projects in capital-intensive, high-growth, or regulated environments who thrives in a startup culture where no two days look the same. Nuclear experience is a plus but not a requirement, what matters most is the ability to operate with urgency, adapt quickly, and lead through uncertainty in a first-of-a-kind technology environment.

Responsibilities

Reactor Deployment & Development Project Ownership
  • Own end-to-end project execution for reactor deployment and development initiatives, including scope definition, scheduling, resource coordination, risk management, and milestone tracking.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and timelines that reflect the full lifecycle of reactor development, from design and engineering milestones through regulatory, site preparation, and deployment phases.
  • Coordinate across engineering, operations, regulatory, and supply chain workstreams to ensure integrated execution and on-time delivery of project milestones.
  • Track and report on project progress against technical, regulatory, and commercial milestones, providing leadership with clear visibility into status, risks, and decisions required.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • For assigned projects, serve as the primary point of coordination between engineering and business teams, translating technical requirements and constraints into actionable plans and communicating project status clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, working groups, and decision-making processes within assigned projects to align stakeholders across engineering, legal, finance, and business development.
  • Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and government counterparts as required to support assigned reactor development and deployment projects.

Risk Management & Problem Solving
  • Identify, assess, and monitor project risks across technical, regulatory, and commercial dimensions and develop mitigation strategies in coordination with the Senior Project Manager.
  • Operate effectively in environments with incomplete information, evolving requirements, and shifting priorities, finding workable paths forward without waiting for perfect conditions.
  • Escalate material risks and decisions to senior leadership in a timely and structured manner.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
  • Prepare and deliver concise project updates, executive briefings, and status reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including charters, schedules, action logs, decision registers, and lessons learned.
  • Support preparation of materials for board reporting, investor updates, and government or strategic partner discussions as they relate to reactor development milestones and execution.

Process & Infrastructure
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, tools, and templates to build scalable execution infrastructure appropriate for a company in rapid growth.
  • Support the Senior Project Manager in developing and refining project management standards across NANO Nuclear' s reactor development and deployment programs.
  • Support Product Development for reactor licensing, engineering, manufacturing, testing activities, and iterative design reviews to reach product development milestones.
  • Support product development of reactor service functions for customers including licensing, feasibility studies, fuel procurement and refueling, operations and maintenance, government affairs coordination, and community engagement.
