About the opportunitySWCA is currently seeking aProject Manager 6 Miningto join ournation-wideMining Team. Our ideal candidate will havedemonstratedexperience in supporting environmental opportunities within the precious, base, industrial and rare earths markets.
This is a full-time, regular (with benefits), salaried position, eligible for distributed work in the Eastern MT, Wyoming or Dakotas areas. Project work will occur primarily in Wyoming and may branch out to support clients throughout the US.

What you will accomplish
- Manage medium to large-sized mine permitting, owner 27s environmental, NEPA, compliance monitoring, and closure/reclamation support projects ensuring project deliverables meet required standards.
- Provide technical, planning, andpermittingsupport to project teams in Wyoming and neighboring states.
- Serve as project manager for assigned clients, collaborating with team members to deliver projectobjectives.
- Support the execution of mining projects within the Northern Plains sub-region through effective project management.
- Assistwith mining projects in other regions as needed, working under the direction of senior staff.
- Build andmaintainpositive working relationships with clients and stakeholders within assigned mining projects.
- Contribute to SWCA 27s reputation for successfully supporting mining projects with challenging environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Identifyand recommend innovative approaches within assigned projects and stay informed about developments in the mining industry.
- Ensure assigned projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet client expectations and internal requirements.
- Drive compliance of safety policies and reporting requirements to ensure overall team safey.
Experience and qualifications for success
Required:
- Bachelor 27s degree in Earth Sciences, EnvironmentalScience, engineering or related technical field.
- 7 years of project managementexperience andin the mining industry (preferred).
- Strong computer skills for database work andproficiencyin MS Office.
- A working understanding of agency internal processes and procedures and with federal land management and regulatory agencies, such as the BLM, USFS, NPS, BOR, DOE, DOT, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), and/or U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Wyoming Agency knowledge would be considered a plus.
- Strong business development skills as a 3seller/doer to develop productive business relationships with agency, client, and industry contacts.
Additional Information:
- Flexible to work outside normal business hours asrequired; may include weekend and nighttime work.
- May require up to 25% travel.
