Fluor Metals & Mining (M&M) is a leader in the study, engineering, and execution of M&M projects world-wide. We have designed and constructed marquee projects in all regions of the world. Regionally, our current project base includes landmark projects in British Columbia, United States (Alaska, Nevada, Arizona), Argentina, Chile, and the European Union. We work with multiple major, and many emerging, mining companies, generally with a focus on precious metals. Our team is leading the market with efficient designs and serves as a key partner for our clients in developing new ways of adopting innovative technologies emerging in our sector, as well as redefining the project delivery model for the next wave of major world projects. We are currently executing feasibility study, detailed design, and construction work ranging from small capital improvement projects to our client's largest mega-projects.

Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager IV to work remotely supporting international projects with the ability to work at the project site in the future. The PM IV will have full accountability for overall project delivery of large-sized or mega-sized EPCM projects or to manage a significant and complex scope on a major project. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to plan, direct, and execute work requiring a safety focused mindset, strategic aptitude, technical judgment and strong project controls in the evaluation, organization, and delivery of international project assignments.

This role has overall responsibility for managing and coordinating project activities in compliance with contractual requirements while ensuring safety, quality, value, schedule adherence, and profitability. This position is designed for a seasoned professional with a proven track record of leading scopes independently or as part of a larger project leadership team.

You will work closely with project managers and regional execution leadership and will have access to Fluor University courses and knowledge management communities to support continuous professional development and enhanced project execution. Key Responsibilities include:
  • Establishing and managing project safety plans and ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) is emphasized throughout all phases of the project;
  • Developing a complete understanding of the prime contract, any relevant subcontracts, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, client reporting, notifications, and project start-up and close-out requirements;
  • Providing overall project leadership to ensure safe, quality, schedule, and cost driven execution. Includes development and oversight of integrated planning, project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and forecasts;
  • Ensuring that effective project controls are in place and functioning properly, including management of project structures for reporting, cost & schedule control, and a change management;
  • Collaborating within sales, operations, and technical teams pursuing prospective projects to develop win strategies, including project execution and commercial strategies;
  • Building an effective, collaborative work environment and aligning the project team around consistent goals and execution priorities;
  • Managing, developing, and supporting the professional advancement of project personnel;
  • Available and able to travel domestically and internationally to attend to business related matters;
  • Managing multidisciplinary technical teams, functional groups, vendors, consultants, licensors, subcontractors, and third parties to ensure integrated and fit-for-purpose delivery;
  • Ensure effective and timely coordination among design, procurement, material management, construction, commissioning, and operations teams for integration of technical content and schedule activities
  • Managing all scope areas including process and infrastructure areas as well as both on-site and off-site scopes.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) requirements;
  • Applying applicable local, provincial/state, and federal/national statutes and guidelines;
  • Developing project staffing plans and coordinating resources with functional managers and subcontractors;
  • Overseeing preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design packages, and bid documents;
  • Managing risks, issues, and stakeholder communications;
  • Other duties as assigned.


Basic Job Requirements

  • A minimum of twenty (20) years related experience, with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of project management (or combination of project management, project engineering, engineering management, and/or overall project controls) experience, including field assignment(s) with supervisory responsibilities
  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study
  • Demonstration of successful performance as Project Manager on a minimum of (2) large-sized FS, EP, EPCM or EPC projects for clients in the mining industry
  • Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within the business and externally, in support of business development
  • Ability to work effectively in a schedule-driven, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills


Other Job Requirements

  • Strong technical, contractual, and commercial understanding including experience in prime contract management of different commercial models including cost reimbursable and lump sum
  • Demonstrated experience developing project execution and partnering strategies, including enforcement and/or implementation of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) requirements and initiatives
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, delegation skills, with strong organizational capabilities and focus;
  • Effective written and verbal English language skills and communication with various stakeholders including reports, peers, management and clients


Preferred Qualifications

  • International project experience and cultural awareness;
  • Familiarity with data-centric execution and integrated project management systems;
  • Mobility and willingness to relocate to project sites as required.

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Salary Range: $175,500.00 - $324,500.00
