Full Job Description
We9re looking for a Project Manager III to lead complex restoration projects with full autonomy. You9ll oversee multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors, navigate regulatory frameworks, and drive high-quality delivery from planning to close-out. If you9re ready to step into a leadership role that balances strategic thinking with boots-on-the-ground impact-this is your opportunity.

You9ll work from one of our regional offices or project hubs, collaborating with internal scientists, engineers, and field teams, as well as clients, agencies, and subcontractors. Travel typically ranges from 10 to 25%, especially during field execution and key regulatory milestones.
Why You9ll Love This Job
  • You9ll lead high-impact restoration projects from start to finish
  • You9ll be given autonomy and trusted to make critical decisions
  • You9ll mentor junior staff and help build a stronger, smarter PM team
  • You9ll influence long-term environmental outcomes and see your impact on the ground
  • You9ll join a company where science, teamwork, and restoration align

A Day in the Life

Your days will be dynamic-balancing technical planning with field realities. You9ll start by finalizing your Risk Register and Project Plan, check in with your design and construction teams, and follow up on permits. In the afternoon, you might visit a restoration site to coordinate with subcontractors and monitor progress, then report on budget performance and percent complete.

You9ll use RES9s PM Best Practices (Opportunity Charters, Risk Registers, MS Project schedules) to manage scope, risk, and timelines. Whether you9re speaking with regulators, adjusting plans due to unexpected site conditions, or presenting updates to a client-you9ll lead with clarity, purpose, and professionalism.

We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
  • A Bachelor9s degree in applied sciences, engineering, or construction (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 10 years of experience in environmental, restoration, or construction-related fields
  • 6+ years of direct project management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of project management tools and documentation practices
  • Strong background in regulatory processes and permit management
  • Experience managing budgets, subcontractors, schedules, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage risk, scope, and client expectations
  • Demonstrated success using PM Best Practices (Charters, Risk Registers, BMPs)
  • Ability to mentor junior PMs or lead project teams across departments
  • Familiarity with financial reporting, forecasting, and project margin tracking

What Will Make You Stand Out
  • PMP certification, PE/PG license, or an advanced degree
  • Experience leading multi-phase mitigation, conservation, or restoration projects

California Pay Range
