Garland Commercial Ranges is looking for a Project Manager II!

Under broad supervision, a Project Manager II is accountable for providing expertise, support, and control for a business line's projects/programs, including developing program/project management best practices/templates and providing training/mentoring to project teams, monitoring dependencies across multiple interrelated projects, gathering and reporting consolidated project status and financial information to leadership. Responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling resources/processes to achieve project/program objectives within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints. Responsibilities typically include working independently with limited supervision and coaching, and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. Manages and oversees all aspects of a project to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget. Has overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. Prepares reports for upper management regarding the status of the project. May require certification in Project Management. Typically requires 7-10 years of related experience.

Reporting to the Director, Clamshell Grills, this position is 100% based in the office at our Mississauga, Ontario facility. This is a full-time, permanent role that replaces existing headcount.

Major Accountability:

  • Leads engineering projects through the NPI process by organizing and presenting at each gate review, ensuring all gate criteria are met.
  • Manage project risks, provide optional and parallel project paths when required.
  • Provide effective, clear communications on behalf of the project team for updates and presentations.
  • Coach / review the work of delegated team members and less experienced staff.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage assigned projects for the complete cycle, from project initiation through completion, including defining project scope; collaborate with senior management and key stakeholders to set and meet all goals and deliverables in support of the project plan.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications, including work plan flow, detailed Gantt Chart/Pert Chart and RACI chart, as required for project execution.
  • Communicate project expectations and updates to team members, management and stakeholders.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • As required, negotiate with other departments for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company. Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments during the project cycle.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, influence and supervise project team members to take positive action and accountability for assigned work.


Qualifications

  • Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities


  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required; experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Certified in Six Sigma preferred; PMP preferred.
  • Excellent people skills required to integrate across functional boundaries.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering, or related,
  • 4 to 7 years of experience
  • 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
