Full Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Project Manager II role is to lead cross-functional and cross-company teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed customer expectations. Functions as the core team lead (CTL) of a cross-opco initiative.

Essential Functions

Managing major programs, multiple large initiatives, or multiple projects of various sizes.

Adhering to FedEx project standards and requirements, including the Global Development Process or Everest processes.

Ensuring that all projects impacting operations follow the FedEx Organizational Change Management (OCM) framework and requirements.

Developing, managing, tracking progress, and updating project plans to meet approved requirements and scope.

Creating and managing project schedules, estimating project spending, and controlling costs throughout the project lifecycle.

Defining and managing project plans to meet the approved scope, and ensuring changes in scope are reviewed and approved by the project team and sponsors.

Defining and tracking success and accuracy metrics to ensure FedEx Quality standards are enforced.

Leading cross-functional teams, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities, and monitoring progress and performance.

Communicating project status to team members and sponsors, and providing effective communication and training to impacted stakeholders.

Managing the purchase and acquisition of products or services to meet project deliverables in adherence with FedEx policy.

Ensuring the development of risk plans and mitigation strategies, and monitoring their execution.

Collaborating and maintaining working relationships with vendors and customers as required by the project.

Exploring ways to improve project processes and project management best practices within the organization.

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Science, Business, Finance, or related field. In addition to minimum experience, high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience in a technical or professional position is accepted in lieu of degree.

Minimum Experience

Seven (7) years experience required in project or program management or three (3) years experience required as a Project Manager I.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.

Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.

Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.

Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.

Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.

Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies, and procedures related to field operations.
