Role OverviewThis position plans, directs and managesrisk for the largest and most complex business/information systemsprojects for both International Financial Data Services (IFDS) clientsand the organization from inception through completion.
The project manager is responsible for theoverall delivery of a solution that meets the joint requirements of thecustomer's specification and the proposal submitted by IFDS.
Role Responsibilities- Coordinate the organization of project activities ensuring thatprojects are completed on time and within budget constraints
- Successfully manage a number of projects simultaneously
- Act as the primary liaison between all teammembers assigned to a project, IT and business
- Coordinate all aspects of project delivery including definingproject scope, specifying deliverables, estimating project duration,effort and cost, managing project budget, creating detailed project plans,schedules and managing change requests
- Ensure project success by driving day-to-day operations through the applicationof sound project management principles and methodologies
- Maintain regular communications with active team and businessstakeholders to ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken toresolve difficulties, which may impede progress or compromise achievementof project's objectives
- Maintain a detailed status, activities and issues reports on eachproject to present to IT Managers and major project stakeholders.
- Work closely with Resources Managers to ensure each project teamhas established meaningful, key metrics that properly reflect theperformance of the team and indicates progress towards objectives
- Make recommendations on project prioritization
- Providefeedback to IT managers from a post-completion analysis of all projects
- Work with the PM Team to define and update standards and processes
Minimum Qualifications - A minimum of 8 years of corporate projectmanagement experience (as a project manager)
- PMP Certification
- Conversant in various tools for statistical analysis, management,project planning, and time tracking including NIKU and MS Excel
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical andproblem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations whereinformation is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous
- Exhibit excellent organizational skills and teamwork skills
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are necessaryto effectively convey goals and initiatives to team members and topmanagement. Extensive experience in direct customer contact and presentations
- Strong organizational, leadership/decision making, creativeproblem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects to tight timelines, attention to detail - disciplined abilityto prioritize
- Proactive, energetic, professional self-starter withexcellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to workeffectively in cross-functional teams
- Intimate knowledge of the software development lifecycle
- Knowledge ofInternational Financial products, applications including functionality would bea definite asset
- Experience in System / client conversion a definite asset
- 3 years of practical experience in the financial investments industry
Salary RangePay Range (CAD $): 109,000 - 137,000
The above reflects an industry-benchmarked target compensation range. The salary offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business needs.
