Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead heavy civil and utility infrastructure projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This position is with a heavy civil general contractor specializing in water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and municipal infrastructure throughout Middle Tennessee.

The ideal candidate has a strong background managing heavy civil or mechanical construction projects, excels at coordinating field operations and project teams, and is committed to delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage heavy civil and utility infrastructure projects from contract award through project completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and execution plans.
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project costs, schedules, labor productivity, and financial performance while identifying and mitigating project risks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Lead project meetings and provide consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage project closeout activities, including commissioning support, punch lists, final documentation, and turnover.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of project management experience in heavy civil or mechanical construction.
  • Experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, including budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and client communication.
  • Experience with water or wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, utility infrastructure, industrial facilities, or similar heavy civil projects is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, contract administration, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience working for a heavy civil general contractor or mechanical contractor is required.
  • Must reside within approximately one hour of Nashville, TN.
  • Candidates whose experience is limited to residential, homebuilding, or light commercial construction will not be considered.
