With responsibility for project leadership, this position exercises sizable latitude for independent judgment and discretion to lead projects of moderate to high complexity from initiation to delivery. Will lead one or more complex internal and/or external projects. This position oversees all phases of the project, ensuring consistent communication of all facets of the project occurs. This position ensures that all scope, quality, budgetary and scheduling targets and requirements are met. Have a wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Is recognized as a subject matter expert.
What you’ll be doing
- Develops project specifications and objectives from initiation to delivery for projects of moderate complexity. This entails communicating with internal and external partners to define scope of efforts required to meet targets, develop comprehensive and predictable project timeline, and analyzing, reviewing, and forecasting resource requirements.
- Prepares, maintains, and updates project plans, agendas, and systems set-up for projects. This includes project steps, activities, the sequence of events, critical success paths, dependencies, and the duration of tasks. On a regular basis, updates the project plan with actuals and forecasts.
- Partners with internal team members to understand the core needs using their expertise assesses and delivers clear communication. Identifies and acquires appropriate resources needed, ensuring availability as necessary for project results. Leads resources within respective departments, other internal departments, outside service providers as well as materials committed to the projects. This may include collaboration with functional department managers to assemble project teams.
- On a continuous basis, communicates with team members to remain appraised of the project’s progress, the work performed, and other resources involved to ensure coordination of technical projects. Monitors project results and progress through the duration of the project plan, leading deviations as appropriate, including project scope. Raises issues where necessary.
- Serves as a point person for others to lend expertise and provide project advice based on experience and specialized knowledge respective to a particular operational function. May assist other team mates in project management staff with their approach to projects and related issues.
- Serves as a central point of contact to routinely relay, facilitate and keep stakeholders informed of the project(s)’ status and respond to questions or inquiries regarding the project. Maintains open communications with the project team, coordinating and conducting meetings as appropriate. Prepares reports for leadership’s review on project progress, issues, and expenditures as appropriate.
- Conducts risk assessment of strategic, technical, financial, or business factors affecting multiple projects. Works to mitigate risk where feasible, relays pertinent information as appropriate, and advances issues where necessary.
- Identifies internal and external factors jeopardizing the project and raises issues as appropriate.
What you will need to be successful
- 3 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 5 years equivalent work experience.
- Formalized education or training in project management practices, theories, and processes is preferred. Formalized Project Management methodology and certification are desired
- 3+ years of experience in a customer or internal client-facing project management role.
- Ability to coordinate, plan, document and lead a project of moderate complexity
- Experience working for a fast-paced/customer centric company preferred.
- Oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are required to efficiently communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, guide and lead others and provide direction.
- Ability to efficiently organize, coordinate, plan, monitor and lead projects as described. A good understanding of system scope, project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities and the ability to work under specific time constraints are required.
- Detailed and possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to lead a project as described. A moderately high level of analytical and problem-solving skills is required. The ability to handle complex project issues.

Salary Range$79500.00 To $101000.00 / year

Onboarding & Travel
This is a remote role, with an in-person onboarding training component. New team members must participate in Trailhead, HealthEquity’s immersive onboarding experience Trailhead is designed to foster meaningful connections, support your integration into the organization, and equip you with a strong understanding of our business. Trailhead participation is a key expectation of this role. Trailhead is held onsite at our headquarters once per quarter. HealthEquity covers all required travel and accommodations.
This role may begin with a virtual, self-paced onboarding experience, followed by a mandatory onsite Trailhead session at a later date.
