Project Manager - HB Utilities, LLC


About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you'll lead utility construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safe execution, financial performance, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.

What You'll Do

    • Lead utility construction projects from bidding and planning through final project completion.
    • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and resource plans.
    • Review project contracts, scopes of work, specifications, and owner requirements to ensure successful execution.
    • Coordinate with field operations, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, clients, and utility owners to achieve project objectives.
    • Monitor project performance, productivity, costs, and schedules to ensure profitability and operational success.
    • Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to mitigate impacts on budget, schedule, and safety.
    • Review and approve project billings, change orders, subcontractor agreements, and payment applications.
    • Lead project meetings and maintain regular communication with clients and key stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory safety requirements while promoting HBU's safety-first culture.
    • Support procurement and logistics planning for equipment, materials, and subcontractor services.
    • Oversee project closeout activities, including final documentation, punch lists, retention tracking, and customer handoff.
    • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, enhance project outcomes, and strengthen customer relationships.
    • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.


Position Requirements

What You Bring

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
    • 7+ years of project management experience in utility construction, heavy civil construction, or related infrastructure projects.
    • Strong knowledge of dry and wet utility construction practices, project controls, contracts, and cost management.
    • Experience managing gas, electric, fiber, water, sewer, or other utility infrastructure projects preferred.
    • Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and project reporting systems.
    • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
