Project Manager - Transportation & Capital Projects

Location: NYC
Salary Range: $145,000 - $175,000 per year

Overview:

Group PMX is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex transportation, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting, and executing projects while ensuring alignment with client objectives, stakeholder expectations, and organizational goals.

This role requires a proven leader with expertise in project management, capital planning, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, and multidisciplinary team coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and successfully deliver multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule, scope, and budget objectives.
  • Oversee large-scale project budgets, including forecasting, monitoring expenditures, cost controls, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to executive leadership, stakeholders, tenants, and client representatives.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, establish priorities, identify risks, and coordinate complex project activities.
  • Align business objectives with stakeholder requirements and facilitate negotiations to resolve project challenges and maintain project schedules.
  • Manage technology, transportation, infrastructure, and capital construction projects through all project phases.
  • Conduct capital planning activities, facility assessments, cost-benefit analyses, life-cycle cost analyses, and project development planning.
  • Implement and monitor risk management strategies and project controls.
  • Apply asset management principles and oversee activities throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, policies, and project requirements.
  • Prepare project reports, status updates, and performance metrics for management and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience managing capital, operational, facility, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects and large capital budgets.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management methodologies.
  • Experience with capital planning, facility assessment programs, asset management, and project lifecycle management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize Port Authority software applications and reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, PE, RA, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with transportation agencies, public-sector entities, airports, transit systems, or infrastructure owners.
  • Knowledge of capital program delivery and public procurement processes.
