Full Job Description
Description Burns & McDonnell's Power global practice is seeking a well-rounded and driven Project Manager to support gas-fired power generation and related heavy industrial projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the overall planning and execution of projects delivered through a variety of contracting and execution models.

The Project Manager will be accountable for the overall safety, quality, scope, schedule, budget, commercial performance, and client satisfaction of assigned projects. This position offers a unique opportunity for an individual who enjoys project execution, client engagement, business development, and the leadership of complex technical teams. Travel to client offices, project sites, supplier facilities, and fabrication shops will be required.

Responsibilities include:
  • Managing the overall planning and execution of Owner's Engineer, detailed design, and/or EPC projects.
  • Serve as a primary interface between the client and the project team and maintain alignment on project objectives, priorities, risks, decisions, and performance.
  • Lead proposal development, including preparation of project scope, schedule, and staffing plan; Participate in contract development and negotiations.
  • Develop and implement the project execution plan.
  • Lead and manage overall multidisciplinary engineering and design efforts and coordinate with the Project Engineer, Engineering Manager, and discipline leads to meet project requirements.
  • Establish and manage project schedule, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance in coordination with project controls and functional leads.
  • Identify changes in scope or conditions, provide timely notice, and manage the preparation, negotiation, authorization, and implementation of client and subcontractor change orders.
  • Manage implementation of the applicable quality program and verify independent quality and completeness reviews are performed for project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients, permitting authorities, equipment suppliers, subcontractors, construction teams, and design leads to deliver solutions that meet project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Lead development and implementation of procurement and subcontracting plans, including bidder-list development, requests for proposal, bid evaluations, negotiations, recommendations for award, and administration of awarded commitments.
  • Manage and expedite major equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and fabrication shops and facilitate resolution of technical, commercial, quality, and schedule issues.
  • Direct and coordinate field engineering services and ensure timely resolution of requests for information, field conditions, design changes, nonconformances, and construction issues.
  • Manage the integration of engineering, procurement, construction, turnover, commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities, as applicable to the project scope.
  • Lead internal and client project meetings and prepare clear and timely status reports addressing safety, quality, scope, schedule, budget, commercial performance, risk, procurement, construction, and key decisions.
  • Foster a culture of proactive communication, accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and commitment to client success.
  • Support development of new and existing client relationships, identify future project opportunities, and assist with strategic business development activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program and 7 years applicable experience required.
  • Prior experience on construction project sites or executing program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment, ability to work overtime on short notice.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others (owners, contractors, engineers, designers) in a multi-disciplined project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Compensation

$140,000.00-460,000.00 Yearly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
