Job DescriptionPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated
Senior Project Manager with a background as a
Staff Operations Officer (SOO) or equivalent experience to support mission-critical activities for our Sponsor. This role requires a seasoned professional who can operate in a fast-paced, high-security environment while managing sensitive programs and driving operational excellence.
The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with Special Access Programs (SAPs), strong coordination and communication skills, and an understanding of the Sponsor's quarterly reporting processes. This individual will serve as a key liaison between stakeholders, ensuring alignment of priorities, timelines, and deliverables across complex initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage high-priority projects in support of Sponsor objectives, ensuring timely and successful delivery
- Coordinate across multiple stakeholders, including operational, technical, and leadership teams
- Support and manage Special Access Programs (SAPs), ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and procedures
- Prepare, review, and contribute to Sponsor quarterly reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with mission priorities
- Provide strategic planning, tracking, and execution support for operational initiatives
- Draft and edit communications, including cables and other formal documentation, as needed
- Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address challenges
- Maintain strict adherence to security protocols and handling of classified information
Required Skills- Experience as a Staff Operations Officer (SOO) or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience supporting or managing Special Access Programs (SAPs)
- Familiarity with Sponsor quarterly reporting processes
- Strong project management, organizational, and coordination skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-tempo environment
Desired Skills- Experience with cable writing and formal operational communications
- Prior experience working directly with the Sponsor or within a similar mission space
- PMP or other project management certification
Additional DetailsFusion Innovation anticipates the annual base salary for this position will generally range from $100,000 to $215,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to:
- Years of direct applicable experience with this work and the Customer
- Relevant education, certifications, and training
- Contract labor category requirements, skill level, contract bill rate, and hours allocation
- Alignment with the position's responsibilities
- Additional specialized skills
