Job Description

We are looking for a Project Manager with responsibility for effectively communicating with clients and setting expectations with Operations through organizational tools to drive projects. Training will be provided and those with prior project management experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinates as the primary point of contact for face-to-face, teleconferencing, and communications relating to client projects, while working with clients to address questions, comments, and concerns.
  • Works closely with clients, Business Development, and Operations staff to define the scope of projects. Assists in preparation of quotes and proposals.
  • Provides project oversight, acting as a client advocate onsite, while interacting with Operations and Analytical Test Designers to keep all parties well informed of project status.
  • Interacts closely with clients to communicate overall goals and expectations to Operations through the setup of study design within eLIMS-BPT. Identifies project risks related to timelines, resources, quality, or budget, and escalates to management as appropriate.
  • Manages multiple clients while coordinating with internal departments to develop and maintain project plans, achieve milestones, and meet client timelines and deliverables. Tracks decisions, action items, and follow-up commitments.
  • Monitors projects for of out-of-scope client requests and scope creep, operational issues, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensures internal stakeholders understand client expectations and project requirements, driving accountability for those assigned deliverables.
  • Provides logistical management and control to ensure all study prerequisites are met prior to initiating a project, including methods, protocols and samples/standard materials are received in a timely fashion. Actively monitors time-based projects through their lifecycle.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of project setup by performing review of all study information. Study design must be an accurate reflection of the approved quote and client expectations.
  • Responsible for evaluating invoices and other related duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, sciences, or other directly related field or degree with comparable coursework in the above areas and a minimum of four (4) years of industry experience including at least two (2) years of experience in managing projects and/or laboratory personnel. A combination of advanced degrees and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with project management tools and processes. Prior project management or facilitation experience.
  • Previous experience with or willingness to learn software platforms such as eLIMS-BPT and Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Familiarity with performing work under FDA GMP regulations and knowledge of the drug development lifecycle.


Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of San Diego, CA are encouraged to apply.

The pay range of this position is $70,000 to $100,000 depending on related experience and qualification.
