Project Manager, Enterprise Initiatives

Job Purpose:

The Manager, Enterprise Initiatives is a project management role that is central to advancing the Global Enterprise Integration (GEI) Division's mandate by managing the planning, coordination, and delivery of enterprise initiatives . The role supports defined workstreams related to executive operations, organizational operations, global operating models, and cross-functional organizational initiatives.

Reporting to the Vice President, Global Operations, the Manager applies structured project management practices to translate strategic priorities into executable projects, coordinate across divisions, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality outputs.

This is a full-time, New York City-based role, where the selected candidate is expected to adhere to a hybrid (2-days per week in office) schedule. Vital Strategies offers highly competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. The salary range for this position is 76,800 to 89,600 USD. The candidate must have authorization to work legally in the U.S. at the time of hiring.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management -
• Manage assigned enterprise initiatives from planning through execution and, where appropriate, independently lead defined operational improvement projects, including timelines, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and delivery.Facilitate collaboration across the Leadership Team, shared services Divisions, Program Divisions, ensuring clear communication and accountability in meeting organizational transformation commitments. Coordinate and convene meetings.
• Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional workstreams related to operations, country office support, and organizational operating models.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and resource needs; proactively escalate issues and propose solutions.
• Monitor progress against established OKRs, track key action items, identify risks, and proactively address potential bottlenecks to ensure timely delivery of key results.
• Develop, maintain, and prepare dashboards and progress reports to provide stakeholders visibility into project status and outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, optimize workflows, and enhance communication across the Leadership Team and various Divisions.
• Support project governance by coordinating meetings, maintaining action logs, documenting decisions, and ensuring timely follow-up on agreed actions.

Cross-Functional Coordination and Communication -
• Serve as a coordination point among GEI, the Leadership Team, and the Executive Leadership Team, the Office of the President, and other Divisions/Departments.
• Support development of communication and change management approaches to accompany new processes or organizational changes.
• Ensure clear documentation and knowledge capture to support sustainability and institutional learning.

Technology and AI-Enabled Process Improvement -
• Leverage project management tools, collaboration platforms, and organizational systems to support efficient execution.
• Evaluate and implement technology-engabled approaches, including AI tools where appropriate to improve project delivery, documentation, reporting, and operational workflows.
• Promote the adoption of new tools and ways of working within GEI and organizational initiatives.

Other Responsibilities -

Experience:

Required -
• Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience.
• Minimum of four (4) years' experience in project management, particularly in operational excellence or process improvement initiatives
• Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects or initiatives in nonprofit, public health, or international development settings.
• Experience with project and work management tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira, or similar tools.

Preferred -
• Project management certification or equivalent training preferred (PMP, Agile, Lean, or similar)
• Prior experience leading or supporting business process improvement initiatives.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
• Ability to travel occasionally (less than 20%).
