About the Position: Focused on projects in western Canada, the Construction Project Manager plays a key role in overseeing and guiding construction teams across all phases of a project-whether managing development initiatives, coordinating supply chain activities, handling project accounting, or driving the successful execution of construction work.
What you do daily:- Manage the day-to-day construction activities simultaneous on multiple projects in Western Canada, to ensure they come in within the schedule and under budget
- Lead a team of external construction project managers
- Coordinate internal resources in support of Supply Chain management for Owner Furnished equipment and resources
- Advocates safety as number one priority on the jobsite and enforces compliance with company and jobsite safety plan and policies and all safety-related regulations
- Lead establishing entitlements to support data centers developments including building permits and all other specific local AHJ processes and required approvals for construction.
- Identify expedited permit opportunities & work with local jurisdictions to enable needed timelines. Source local expert & develop key relationships to support
- Work with construction team project managers on needed permit dates & coordinate with construction teams as appropriate
- Work with design and construction teams to provide schedules needed to achieve project milestones.

- Work with the internal and external teams to enhance processes and protocols
- Must be a capable, proven team player that both fosters and operates well within internal and external team environments
- Strong planning skills along with the ability to lead through influence and to be a proactive partner
- Assists in the preparation of construction and development estimates for the project and prepares project budgets and unit cost reports.
- Leads the project team in preparing project planning and organizes and conducts pre-award and pre-construction meetings
- Participates in value engineering services as appropriate, negotiation and preparation of project scopes of work and contracts.
- Reviews plans and specifications and determines their completeness and consistency and plans the successful execution of the construction contract.
- Oversees the contractor's material and equipment procurement, buyout, and submittals. Ensure budgets are maintained and procurement aligns with the construction schedule.
- Monitors the project site for cost, safety, quality, and schedule performance with the contractors and monitors project quality, safety, and risk management plans.
- Negotiates change orders and manages the resulting cost and budget impact.
- Reviews and approves monthly pay requests.
- Controls the payment of project design and construction costs based on document review and approval. Coordinates with the accounting for payments and lien releases and leads regular job cost reviews.
- Works closely with the commissioning team to ensure coordination of vendors and contractor commissioning teams to achieve turnover to customers.
- Coordinates all final close out procedures for the project as delivered by the contractor, including as-built drawings, close out, letter of substantial completion.
- Continually tracks project costs, allowances, contingencies within the financial software.
- Able to solve problems at a tactical and functional level
- Provide Data-driven action plans for executive decision making to manage and effectively present information in a manner to support efficient decision making
- Mitigate risk for the project through pre-planning, innovative planning, and partnership
What makes you a good fit:- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years' experience in construction / construction management
- 5+ years of experience with mission critical industry
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess leadership and people management skills
- Willingness to travel domestically for project and team needs
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, cloud-based commissioning software, and financial management software platforms.
- Must be available to travel to sites in Vancouver and Calgary.

$160,000 - $185,000 a year
