Full Job Description
As McKesson prepares to separate its Medical-Surgical business unit into a standalone entity,we are seeking a Project Manager, Customer Engagement to lead the cross-functional coordination of customer impacts, communications, and actions driven by the separation. This role will partner closely with Sales, Customer Experience, Operations, Legal, Finance, IT, Communications, and functional workstream leads to identify, document, coordinate, and track customer-facing activities required to support a smooth transition. The ideal candidate is a proactive, business-oriented project manager who can bring structure to complex, fast-moving work, translate separation impacts into clear action plans, and ensure customer-related dependencies, decisions, and communications are visible, coordinated, and executed on time. This role requires strong stakeholder management, disciplined follow-through, and the ability to communicate clearly with both project teams and senior leaders. Key Responsibilities: • Lead cross-functional efforts to identify, document, and validate customer impacts resulting from the separation, including customer-facing process, system, contract, billing, communications, and support considerations. • Build and maintain integrated project plans, trackers, decision logs, risk logs, and dependency maps for customer-related separation activities across business and functional workstreams. • Coordinate and track business asks related to customer readiness, including data requests, decision needs, customer lists, communication inputs, approvals, and functional dependencies required to support separation milestones. • Facilitate working sessions with Sales, Customer Experience, Operations, Legal, Finance, IT, Communications, and other business partners to gather inputs, align on actions, confirm ownership, and drive timely resolution of open items. • Partner with Communications, Sales, Legal, and business owners to coordinate customer messaging needs, review cycles, approval timelines, audience segmentation, and readiness materials. • Proactively identify risks, issues, blockers, and unmade decisions that could affect customer readiness or experience; escalate concerns with clear recommendations and proposed next steps. • Prepare concise, leadership-ready updates, dashboards, and summary materials that communicate progress, key decisions, risks, dependencies, and next steps across the customer engagement workstream. • Maintain strong follow-through on action items, owners, due dates, and dependencies to ensure customer-facing deliverables remain on track through separation planning and execution. Preferred Qualifications: • 8+ years of project management experience • Strong understanding of customer-facing business processes and the ability to anticipate how operational, system, contractual, or communication changes may affect customers and internal support teams • Experience supporting separation, M&A, or large-scale transformation initiatives. • PMP, Agile, or Six Sigma certification • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace • Proven ability to lead in a matrixed environment and navigate ambiguity About McKesson Medical-Surgical McKesson Medical-Surgical (MMS), which is expected to become Wellverse in early 2027, is a subsidiary and publicly reported segment of the McKesson Corporation.
