The Project Manager leads project teams through the effective planning, management, and implementation of small to medium scale project initiatives across various IT and business areas. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver each project on time and within budget, scope and quality requirements, through the indirect leadership of a team of IT staff, and possibly business staff, assigned to the project.

How you will create impact:

  • Working with project sponsors and key stakeholders to define project and develop project initiation documents, including establishing the vision, objectives, high level scope, approach, and project priorities.
  • Leading project stakeholders and key team members through project planning activities, including developing a detailed project schedule, target dates, resource plan, accountabilities, communication plan and project budget.
  • Executing the plan by leading the activities and tasks of the project team through all phases of the project, which includes monitoring, reviewing, and controlling the scope, quality, schedule, budget and resources with an emphasis on business value and customer satisfaction.
  • Closing projects by obtaining formal approvals, producing final status and cost reports, releasing project resources, archiving project information, and conducting post project reviews to document lessons learned for future projects.
  • Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with project sponsors, steering committee members, project stakeholders, key systems users, and project team, acting as primary point of contact with business clients and other internal and external stakeholders connected to the project.
  • Providing guidance and direction to project team members, assigning tasks, providing motivation and coaching, facilitating conflict management and team building, and offering performance feedback to their direct leaders.
  • Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of project management and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) standards, methodologies, tools, techniques, processes and practices.
  • Building a network with more experienced project managers to keep abreast of corporate objectives, industry trends, technologies and project management best practices.

Salary information

"Expected salary/hourly range $72,847 - $121,411" (min-max, full range)

Salary placement

"The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Sovereign in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education."

Incentive/Variable pay

"Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics."
