About the Role:Join TAI as a Project Manager within our Automation & Controls Engineering team, where you will lead complex industrial automation projects from concept through commissioning. In this role, you'll serve as the primary liaison between clients and engineering teams, coordinating project scope, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables while ensuring successful project execution. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering professional who enjoys driving projects, solving technical challenges, and delivering impactful solutions across a variety of industries.
Here's a glimpse into your day to day:- Ensure project deliverables meet TAI and client expectations
- Manage all phases of a project - setup, execution, and closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules
- Provide a single point of contact between TAI and client - getting info from client for the design,
- Providing the client with necessary information and resolving most project issues with the client.
- Prepare initial budget, tracking overall costs, approving pending invoices, and pursuing change orders as required.
- Perform overall project quality control.
- For multi-discipline projects, coordinating budget, schedules, and deliverables with all TAI divisions.
- Keep the Account Manager informed of significant issues associated with the project.
- Capable to self-perform within their engineering discipline at or above a Sr. Engineer level.
- Research and apply applicable industry codes
- Independently work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to codes is required.
- Direct and review work of project design team; check progress of work and alert managers to change of scope and additional services.
- Direct CAD designers for the preparation of construction drawings.
- Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines.
You'll be a perfect fit if you have:- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or other relevant engineering discipline is preferred) from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineer or PMP is a plus
- Minimum of five years of applicable consulting experience,
- Minimum of five years of experience in utilizing construction documents for industrial, chemical, manufacturing, food & beverage facilities with significant expertise in at least one of the core industries served by TAI.
- Minimum of five years of experience self-performing controls engineering for design projects within industrial, chemical, manufacturing, life sciences and/or or food & beverage markets.
- Basic understanding of all engineering disciplines with capacity to self-perform controls/design engineering tasks. Minimum of five years of experience designing, reviewing, and approving Electrical Construction Drawing sets including but not limited to electrical single line diagrams, instrument location plan, conduit block diagrams, PLC/HMI panel designs, motor wiring diagrams, and network architecture drawings.
- Basic knowledge of Codes and Standards such as NEC, ISA, UL, and NFPA codes and electrical classifications.
- Understanding of process controls
- Great leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to perform field work that will include walking, kneeling, sitting, standing, climbing stairs and/or ladders.
- Must be willing to travel to client sites
Candidates must have experience with the following software:- Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- AutoCAD (ability to open drawings, navigate, edit text, and print)
Compensation and Benefits:- Pay: $120,000-160,000 Annually (depending on experience)
