Job DescriptionResponsible for managing all phases of assigned structural and miscellaneous steel construction projects. Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, safety, and quality standards. This role requires coordination across internal teams, subcontractors, customers, and external partners.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Perform duties with limited supervision following established procedures and deadlines
- Ensure all contractual terms and obligations are met throughout project execution
- Manage project cost control and schedule adherence
- Oversee accurate tracking and documentation of all change orders
- Communicate regularly with customers, vendors, architects, engineers, and internal teams to resolve issues and prevent delays
- Some projects require weekly or daily coordination meetings
- Conduct job site visits as required, including potential out-of-state travel
- Track project progress, prepare status reports, and keep leadership informed
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting tight deadlines
- Ensure complete and accurate project documentation to protect company interests
- Manage projects ranging from $5,000 to $3M+ in value
Requirements5-10 years of related experience as a Project or Construction Manager in structural steelHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's degree in construction management, civil/structural engineering, or business may substitute for up to 3 years of experienceExperience in fabrication or erection may substitute for detailing/drafting experienceProficiency with PC systems and software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) and industry-specific tools (e.g., Tekla-based systems, ERP platforms, drafting review tools)Ability to work extended hours including evenings and weekends as requiredWillingness to travel as needed, including overnight or out-of-state travelValid driver's license requiredPrimarily office-based with frequent visits to fabrication and field sites
