Description

GPI is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Construction Inspection to lead and grow our inspection and construction management efforts across Central and North Jersey. This is a high-visibility role supporting transportation and infrastructure projects, with responsibility for managing teams, client relationships, and project delivery from start to finish. What You'll Do
  • Manage construction inspection assignments for roadway, bridge, and infrastructure projects
  • Lead, mentor, and oversee Resident Engineers, inspectors, and field staff
  • Serve as the primary client contact for NJDOT, county, and municipal projects
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing, and overall performance
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and safety standards
  • Review daily reports, change orders, and contractor progress
  • Support business development, including proposals and client engagement
What You'll Bring:
  • 8-15+ years of construction inspection or construction management experience
  • Prior experience managing NJDOT or similar transportation projects strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership and client-facing skills
  • NICET certification, PE license, or EIT preferred
  • Solid understanding of roadway, bridge, and infrastructure construction practices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously


Requirements

  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
  • Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
