Job Description

The Commercial Construction Project Manager partners with Sales, Operations and the Inventory Center to effectively manage modular building projects (that are specifically assigned) within the scope of the contract or agreement. This role provides on-site coordination for the customer and the Mobile Modular division with vendors to ensure the success of the project.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Establish profitability goals and strategies to achieve them as well as manage and control internal cost to protect and maximize profitability.
  • Attend bid walks, when appropriate, with sales representative. Capture information pertinent for bidding process.
  • Read and understand bid documents and specifications to articulate important items and make recommendations for exclusions and inclusions. Prepare bid response.
  • In conjunction with the inventory center (IC), estimate project based on bid specs. Works with purchasing agent on custom items.
  • Weighing cost, timeline and company goals, have ability to select most optimal equipment for the project.
  • Create and maintain a project schedule as well as monitor the construction process to ensure the project is constructed on schedule and within budget while maintaining the highest quality possible.
  • Manage the design approval process with all parties - the IC, the State and other approving officials, the customer.
  • Be the expert in construction and related codes and processes, both internally and externally.


Qualifications
  • 3 - 5 years construction project management experience commercial construction industries.
  • Strong background in estimating and experience with managing multiple complex projects to completion.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills required.
  • Demonstrated success with being highly collaborative and in working well with all types of thinkers and personalities.
  • Experience using tools such as MS Project and MS Excel.
  • Construction or Project Management Degree preferred or 5-8 years construction related experience in lieu of degree.


Special Considerations:
  • Local travel to jobsites will be required. A clean, valid driver's license will be required.
