Job Description:

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, technical resources, and leadership to manage project execution, mitigate risks, and drive accountability. This role requires strong project management fundamentals, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities within a dynamic environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead end-to-end project execution, including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, monitoring, and delivery

  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria

  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, budgets, and status reporting

  • Facilitate project governance routines, including status meetings, steering committees, and stakeholder reviews

  • Manage project risks, dependencies, assumptions, and issues, proactively driving mitigation plans

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of project activities

  • Track project performance against scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets

  • Support change requests, scope adjustments, and project prioritization decisions

  • Ensure effective communication across project teams and stakeholders through regular reporting and updates

  • Collaborate with PMO, business leaders, IT teams, and external suppliers when applicable

  • Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with organizational standards and governance requirements

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying lessons learned and recommending process enhancements

What You Have:

Project Delivery Experience-

Proven experience managing medium-sized projects from initiation through deployment, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget constraints

Project Management Methodologies-

Strong understanding of project management frameworks, including Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid, or similar delivery approaches

Stakeholder Management-

Experience working with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and leadership to achieve project objectives

Planning & Coordination-

Ability to develop detailed project plans, manage dependencies, coordinate resources, and track project execution

Risk & Issue Management-

Experience identifying, assessing, and resolving project risks, issues, and roadblocks

Reporting & Governance-

Strong experience preparing project status reports, dashboards, and executive communications

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills-

Ability to analyze information, identify challenges, and develop practical solutions in a fast-paced environment

Communication Skills-

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple organizational levels

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Hold Project Management certifications such as PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), or equivalent

  • Have experience working within PMOs, transformation programs, or enterprise initiatives

  • Demonstrate strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Have experience managing technology, business process, or operational improvement projects

  • Show adaptability and resilience in complex and changing environments

  • Possess knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Clarity, Planview, or ServiceNow

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
