Responsibilities

  • Manage all capital projects to meet spending plans and compliance standards.

Full Job Description
We are searching for a Project Manager, Capital Projects is responsible for managing the successful execution of capital projects from inception to completion while maintaining compliance with Venture expectations and contractual deadlines. This position will ensure accuracy and progression of each project and establish fluid communication regarding the projects with key stakeholders. Your Benefits • Discretionary annual bonus • Paid Time Off • Health Insurance • Dental Insurance • Vision Insurance • 401k Matching • Paid Maternal Leave • Parental Leave • Learning reimbursement opportunities Key attributes in our next team member • Excellent communicator • Planning mastermind • Problem-solver • Persistent Responsibilities: • Manages all capital projects to ensure capital spending plans are successfully executed and, where applicable, mandated or contractual deadlines, budgets, warranty and quality standards are met with compliance. • Responsible for project planning, scheduling and cost analysis for each project. • Provides timely and effective communication regarding project scope, status and schedule to appropriate corporate and property personnel. • Ensures organizational compliance with Venture governance expectations regarding bidding and contracting process. • Reviews change order requests and obtains company approval prior to moving forward. • Investigates project variances, submits variance reports and communicates key insights to Director, Capital. • Work closely with AP department for contractor payments and final Lien waivers. The responsibilities listed above are not all inclusive. However, they are indicative of the types of responsibilities normally performed by the Project Manager, Capital projects. Qualifications • College graduate preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field is preferred. • At least 5 years of previous project management and supervisory experience, preferably within the student housing or a similar multi-family sector. • Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more in a year. • Obtains a valid driver's license. • Flexible, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with quickly re-prioritizing. • Values and fosters a sensitive and supportive approach to a diverse working and living environment. • Committed to excellence and high standards. Operational Details • Job location is based at Scion's Chicago corporate headquarters. • Working hours consist of standard daytime business hours. • Corporate Office experience is preferred. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
