Project ManagerResearch & Development, Infrastructure1 regular full-time position, located on-site in Logan, UT
Closing Date: End of Day, October 23, 2026
As a hardware Project Manager, you will lead the cross-functional execution of complex physical products from concept through production. You will work closely with Product and Engineering to turn product direction and technical decisions into coordinated, executable development programs, connecting the functions required to bring high-quality products to market.
This is a hands-on project leadership role for someone who understands how hardware actually gets built. You will stay close to the technical work, identify and remove barriers to execution, drive timely decisions, manage scope, schedule, budget, dependencies and risk, and continually improve how teams work together.
You'll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks- Create and maintain a strong culture in accordance with Campbell Scientific's core ARCTIC values -- Accountable, Respectful, Client-Centric, Team-Oriented, Innovative, Continually Improving
- Build and ship best-in-class hardware for clients that measure the real world when measurements matter.
- Lead cross-functional hardware development projects from concept through design, verification, compliance, manufacturing readiness, and production release.
- Own the integrated project view across scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, decisions, resources, and readiness.
- Remove barriers to execution, resolve unclear ownership and cross-functional gaps, and drive timely decisions and commitments.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to turn decisions about what and when into coordinated execution.
- Integrate manufacturing throughout product development, including DFM/DFA, sourcing, prototypes, assembly, production test, documentation, and transfer.
- Drive prototypes, development iterations, verification, and pre-compliance early, using internal and external resources to accelerate learning and retire risk.
- Work directly with technical teams to understand issues, challenge assumptions, clarify tradeoffs, and turn decisions into action.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships through influence and credibility, communicating risks, decisions, and tradeoffs clearly to technical teams, Product, Manufacturing, and senior leadership.
- Continuously improve how hardware gets developed and shipped, eliminating unnecessary process while preserving quality, reliability, and engineering discipline
What We're Looking For- A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Five or more years of experience as a practitioner developing physical products, with a track record of brining multiple hardware or electromechanical products into production.
- Experience working with Engineering and Manufacturing teams through prototyping, DFM, verification, production readiness, and manufacturing transfer.
- Experience leading complex technical work across functions without relying on direct reporting authority.
- Mechanical engineering experience involving electromechanical product development, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability.
- Electrical engineering experience involving PCB development, board bring-up, hardware debugging, EMC/EMI, or production transfer.
- Experience with in-house and outsourced prototyping and manufacturing resources.
- Experience with product compliance, production test development, fixtures, sourcing, or new product introduction (NPI).
- Experience in organizations that design and manufacture their own physical products.
- Strong technical fluency across hardware development, with the ability to ask the right questions and help technical teams turn decisions into execution.
- Comfortable navigating and discussing engineering artifacts such as CAD models, drawings, schematics, and PCB layouts appropriate to their technical background.
- Excellent organization and communication skills, with the ability to turn complex work into clear decisions, risks, tradeoffs, actions, and commitments.
- Low-ego leadership style with the confidence to create constructive friction while maintaining strong long-term working relationships.
- Ability to surface problems early, challenge assumptions constructively, and create accountability across organizational boundaries.
- Strong judgment about when process adds necessary discipline and when it creates unnecessary delay.
- A bias toward action and urgency balanced by respect for quality, reliability, manufacturability, compliance, and sound engineering practice.
- Highly self-directed and comfortable being given outcomes and constraints, developing an execution plan, and driving the work with limited day-to-day direction.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements- General office environment, extensive use of PC.
- Travel requirements: Domestic or International travel may be required 1 to 3 times per year.
- Extended periods of sitting or standing typically associated with office work, tradeshows and international travel.
