Position DescriptionProject Manager: Driving Structural Steel Projects from Award to CompletionAre you an organized, results-driven project management professional who enjoys coordinating complex projects, solving problems, and building strong customer relationships?
Join Ben's Structural Fabrication as a Project Manager, where you'll manage structural steel projects from award through final completion. In this role, you'll take ownership of project schedules, budgets, documentation, changes, customer communication, and coordination across internal and external teams to help ensure projects are completed safely, successfully, and profitably.
What You'll DoAs the Project Manager at Ben's Structural Fabrication, you will be responsible for:
- Manage Projects from Award Through Completion: Take ownership of assigned structural steel projects by coordinating project requirements, schedules, resources, and deliverables while monitoring progress and supporting safety, quality, schedule, budget, and customer expectations.
- Manage Contracts and Project Financials: Review and manage contract requirements, estimates, schedules of values, budgets, costs, billing requirements, and change exposure while monitoring project performance and identifying potential risks or variances.
- Oversee Project Controls and Documentation: Manage project setup, schedules, drawings, approvals, RFIs, ASIs, RFPs, submittals, change requests, change orders, correspondence, project records, tracking systems, and close-out documentation.
- Build Strong Customer and Stakeholder Relationships: Communicate professionally with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders; participate in project meetings; manage expectations; and address concerns throughout the project.
- Coordinate Cross-Functional Project Execution: Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Detailing, Estimating, and other internal teams to coordinate drawings and approvals, material requirements, fabrication priorities, freight, field measurements, delivery requirements, erection activities, and other project needs.
- Identify and Resolve Project Challenges: Monitor schedules, costs, scope changes, constructability concerns, and other project risks; coordinate solutions with the appropriate stakeholders; and escalate significant contractual or project concerns when additional support is needed.
- Support Continuous Improvement: Identify lessons learned, process gaps, and improvement opportunities while collaborating with the Project Management team and cross-functional partners to improve project execution, communication, consistency, and overall performance.
This is a full-time, salaried position. Work is typically performed Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with availability outside of standard shift hours as needed to support project and customer needs. Travel of up to 20% may be required.
Pay Transparency StatementIn accordance with pay transparency guidelines, the anticipated pay range for this position is $74,000 to $95,000. This range is an estimate and not a guarantee. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and role requirements. Eligible employees may also participate in company benefit programs, subject to plan terms and employment status.

Position RequirementsRequired- Three (3) or more years of progressive project management experience in structural steel fabrication, construction, or a related industry.
- Experience managing construction projects through multiple phases of project execution.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, job costs, change orders, billing, contract requirements, and project documentation.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and other project documentation.
- Experience coordinating with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and cross-functional internal teams.
Preferred- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with structural steel fabrication and construction processes, including detailing, material procurement, fabrication, delivery, and erection.
- Experience using construction or project management technology, customer portals, scheduling tools, ERP systems, and document management platforms.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
