Job Title: Project Manager - Artificial Intelligence (AI) Business Pilots (Financial Services | Federal)

Job Description:

The Project Manager, AI Business Pilots, leads quick-turnaround business projects that apply agentic AI to modernize and streamline business processes, while creating new capabilities. This role is responsible for planning, leading, and providing hands-on support for these fast-turnaround pilots and providing relationship management for pilot stakeholders. This role partners closely with business and AI technology project team members to move from pilot planning to delivery quickly, delivering results and demonstrating value within an agile, delivery-focused federal environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • AI Pilot Planning and Execution
    • Lead quick turn-around, high-priority business pilots validating and/or delivering agentic AI solutions that enhance business and/or staff efficiency, capabilities and performance.
    • Plan and manage pilot project scope, schedule, dependencies, and risks in rapid, iterative delivery cycles (SAFE agile).
    • Provide hands-on execution support, including process analysis and reengineering, backlog refinement, sprint coordination, end-of-sprint demonstrations, issue resolution, and delivery readiness.
    • Coordinate with internal governance and control owners (e.g., architecture review board, legal) for pilot reviews and approval.
    • Support documentation, traceability, and transparency needed for audits, reviews, and governance without inhibiting speed.
    • Track and communicate expected improvements in cycle time, quality, workload reduction, mission outcomes, etc.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
    • Serve as primary point of contact and relationship management to the pilot business sponsor and business team, serving as a trusted liaison between the business and AI Program.
    • Prepare concise briefings, dashboards, demos, and executive updates that highlight progress, risks, and realized benefits.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience planning and leading pilots and proofs of concept.
  • Significant experience leading fast-paced, delivery-driven projects within federal programs, financial services, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing ambiguity, evolving requirements, and tight deadlines.
  • Practical fluency in modern AI concepts, including automation, orchestration, and intelligent decision support (hands-on coding not required).
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience applying AI, intelligent automation, or decision-support tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe, Lean, or hybrid delivery models.
  • PMP, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent project management certification.
