Project Manager - Architecture

Studio - Oakland High Density

Applying their knowledge and the thoughtful techniques required for urban development, Oakland High Density has a passion for context-sensitive density and affordable housing design. They are experts at understanding and applying codes and allowances to get the most benefit from the entitlement phase, while securing buy-in from neighbors and municipalities. Your Impact

As KTGY's Project Manager is charged with bringing the project vision and story into reality. While the scale and complexity of the project may vary, the role of the project manager remains the same and embodies a combination of technical savvy, organizational skills, and design thinking to effectively, efficiently create the documents for realizing the built project. They coordinate between design teams, clients, and consultants, ensuring smooth communication and project flow, and successful execution of budgets, schedules, and quality control. Their expertise in building codes, construction methodologies, and industry standards is essential in translating design concepts into buildable structures.

Applies experience and knowledge to proactively solve design challenges. Orchestrates coordination efforts with consultants and challenges the team to always look for innovative solutions. Thinks creatively to execute the design vision and tell the project story through construction documents. Leads detailing efforts.

Collaboration

Works closely with Senior Designer or Designer to ensure the project vision and story is carried through to the built result. Sets project pace and rhythm. Empowers team members to fully utilize their strengths and grow in their competencies. Takes a proactive and systematic approach to QA/QC to ensure that the project deliverables meet the required quality standards. A successful project manager communicates with principals and studio leaders providing comprehensive updates on project progress, financials, and key decisions, seeking strategic input and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Care

Proactively seeks to understand the unique needs, perspectives, and aspirations of all stakeholders, including clients, end-users, and the project team. Cultivates a positive team culture that inspires trust, engagement, and a shared commitment to project success.

Partnership

Builds client confidence in KTGY. Anticipates client concerns and proactively communicates with clients to minimize negative project impacts. Engages clients in a collaborative problem-solving process when challenges arise, actively seeking their input and working together to find appropriate solutions that align with their goals and objectives.
