Job SummaryAs a Project Manager supporting the VA's Office of Suicide Prevention Sprints (TOPR: 0025), you will serve as the single contractor point of contact for all VHA requests and contractor performance matters, overseeing the full lifecycle of a large-scale, multi-project program focused on Veteran mental health and suicide prevention initiatives. Operating within the federal healthcare environment of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), you will plan, initiate, manage, execute, and close out programs that directly advance the agency's life-saving mission. This is a high-impact role requiring close coordination with VA stakeholders, federal oversight personnel, and multidisciplinary contractor teams.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned program leader who thrives in complex, mission-driven environments, brings a calm and organized approach to competing priorities, and communicates with clarity and credibility across government and contractor teams. Experience working in or alongside large healthcare organizations — particularly federal health agencies — is strongly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the single contractor point of contact (POC) for all VHA requests and contractor performance matters, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional communication between the contractor team and VA stakeholders.
- Lead end-to-end program management activities — including planning, initiating, executing, monitoring, and closing projects — in alignment with the task order scope, schedule, and budget for the Office of Suicide Prevention Sprints.
- Develop, maintain, and report on program management artifacts such as integrated master schedules, risk registers, status reports, and performance dashboards to keep VA leadership informed of progress and issues.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues proactively, escalating critical items to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and relevant VA leadership as appropriate.
- Coordinate cross-functional contractor staff and subcontractors supporting sprint-based delivery workstreams, ensuring alignment with VHA priorities, federal regulations, and contract performance standards.
- Support quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts across the program by monitoring deliverable quality, tracking action items to closure, and facilitating lessons-learned reviews at key program milestones.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience successfully managing a large-scale program encompassing multiple concurrent projects with lifecycle budgets and complexity comparable to a federal task order.
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting a large corporation or government agency, with preference given to candidates with experience in a large healthcare organization or federal health agency such as the VA, DoD, or HHS.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential and pass a background investigation as required for access to VA facilities and systems.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future need for visa sponsorship.
Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential of comparable quality (e.g., PgMP, FAC-P/PM, DAWIA PM) required at time of hire.
