Job Summary

As a Program Manager supporting the VA Office of Suicide Prevention Sprints (TOPR 0025), you will lead the planning, execution, and closeout of high-priority program initiatives aimed at reducing Veteran suicide and strengthening mental health outcomes across an integrated federal healthcare system. This role operates at the intersection of public health urgency and federal program governance, requiring close collaboration with VA stakeholders, clinical subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to deliver measurable results. You will serve as a key contractor liaison ensuring program milestones, deliverables, and reporting requirements are met in alignment with VA strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate is a decisive, mission-driven program leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced federal healthcare environments and brings a deep commitment to Veteran health and well-being. You are equally comfortable driving executive-level strategy and rolling up your sleeves to manage day-to-day program execution with precision and accountability.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end program management activities for VA Office of Suicide Prevention sprint initiatives, including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, risk management, and formal closeout.
  • Serve as the primary contractor point of contact for VA program stakeholders, facilitating regular status meetings, executive briefings, and cross-functional working sessions to align on program priorities and resolve issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and report against integrated program plans, performance metrics, and deliverable tracking tools to ensure transparency and accountability across all program workstreams.
  • Assist the VA in the execution of targeted Suicide Prevention program goals by identifying gaps, recommending evidence-based solutions, and coordinating implementation efforts across relevant VA offices and clinical stakeholders.
  • Monitor program scope, schedule, and budget baselines; proactively identify risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies in accordance with federal program management standards and PWS requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality program documentation including status reports, project charters, lessons learned, and closeout reports in compliance with VA and federal contracting documentation standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare program management, including direct experience planning, initiating, managing, executing, and closing out programs within an integrated Health Care System.
  • Master's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience supporting a large corporation or government agency, with demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational structures and federal program governance frameworks.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a VA PIV credential and pass a VA background investigation; must be eligible for access to VA systems, facilities, and sensitive program data.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship; this position supports a federal government contract and requires U.S. work authorization.
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent quality-focused project management credential (e.g., PgMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner) required at time of hire.
