Full Job Description

SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Agile Project Manager for spaceflight, design, build, test, assembly, integration, certification, launch, operations, and sustainment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing agile hardware and software development projects in the spaceflight industry. This position will be onsite at our Space Station Development Facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop project plans and planning products that tie in the PBS, OBS, WBS, Risk Register, etc.

  • Establish schedule, cost, resource, and scope baselines.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and product managers to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

  • Ensuring integrated schedule creation (IMS) and fidelity at the product, system and module level.

  • Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to Project Management Senior Staff.

  • Understands the engineering development lifecycle and works with engineers to navigate the how from concept to delivery.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks to program and project timelines.

  • Ensure alignment with program integration team concerning project status in the broader portfolio performance framework.

  • Driving standards and guidelines to support the system and tactical implementation.

  • Ensure consistency of Project Controls methodologies.

  • Track realization of strategic benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, systems engineering, business, project management, or a related field.

  • 2-3 years of experience in program project management, or related roles.

  • Experience in managing very large, complex programs or projects with multiple workstreams and dependencies.

  • Experienced working in an agile environment and how that translates to effective scheduling.

  • Project management principles or project management-related coursework or certification.

  • Expertise in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Jira or similar tools.

  • Advanced reporting experience, with the ability to create custom reports, dashboards (Power BI), and schedule analysis tools.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time).

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
