Job Description

The Product Manager 2 is an intermediate level role that creates and manages the full lifecycle of Global MFD Training products and programs that reach a variety of audiences with the purpose of furthering the mission of the Church by inviting all to come unto Christ. This may include planning, development, delivery, adoption, measurement and continuous improvement.

The focus of the Product Manager is on meeting the needs of the customer audience by serving as the day-to-day product owner and primary coordinator for assigned programs.

Responsibilities

  • Understand unmet and customer/audience needs. Balance stakeholder requirements with customer needs.
  • Establish and maintain a prioritized backlog of product requirements.
  • Prioritize audiences/customers.
  • Product ambassador: Create, lead, and work with cross-functional teams (including service departments).
  • Manage the entire Product Lifecycle. Product launch and adoption for all targeted audiences.
  • Develop core product communication, messaging, and positioning by audiences.
  • Establish, monitor, and report product metrics.
  • Indirect leadership/teamwork required from other internal organizations: Typically lead cross-functional teams, mainly comprised of individual contributors. Product Influence (strategic importance, footprint/global):
  • Oversees products that have strategic influence, often with a global impact.
  • May involve new product introduction into new markets or areas.
  • Product breadth (product, product line, portfolio): Manage multiple training programs and products across the globe.
  • Product complexity (technical, integration): Manage products that require some degree of product integration within MFD department as well as across departments and areas.
  • Presentations and internal communication (management, executive management): Communicate and seek approvals at director's council, managing director, or area level.
  • Vendor management: Limited vendor management, typically with established vendors.
  • Create request for proposals for new programs.
  • Support the successful launch, implementation, adoption and ongoing use of assigned training products and programs across MFD audiences and areas.
  • Prepare status updates, dashboards, reports, presentations, recommendations and other materials for Stakeholders. Manage program requirements, scope, dependencies, risks, issues, timelines, decisions and action items.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required in business, marketing, communications, or related discipline
  • 5 years of related experience with demonstrated ability to solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Ability to define and create exceptional customer experiences with products.
  • Excellent ability to build productive and effective relationships where conflicting objectives may exist.
