Description

The Project Management Specialist manages, facilitates, and supports activities related to the assigned Discipline's projects. Coordinates key deliverables, activities, resources, meetings, equipment, and other necessary items for project completion. Maintains project plans, reports, and technical documents. Serves as point of contact for project team, ensuring effective communication and team coordination. Facilitates development of project, resource, staffing plans, secures required resources, tracks, and reports on progress, troubleshoots issues, ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, cost, and associated regulatory aspects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads project execution efforts including budget and scope development, staffing, scheduling client meetings and billings, proposal development and related deliverables.
  • Partners with clients, technical project managers, and Principals/Associates to develop work plans for individual projects, particularly those larger and more complex.
  • Assists the Discipline Leader, Assistant Discipline Leader, and Group Leaders in identifying and allocating appropriate staff resources for project execution and pursuits.
  • Manages and maintains workload forecasting database, identifying workload gaps, and staffing needs and partnering with managers to address those needs.
  • Partners with contracts team to process sub and prime agreements.
  • Coordinates between disciplines to ensure project needs are met, including assisting other disciplines in identifying appropriate staff to help with projects and scheduling appropriate staff to support project needs.
  • Regularly evaluates project management processes and systems, developing and implementing improved practices as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in the Architecture and Engineering industry or other professional services industry. Project management experience highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat. Experience using Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.
  • Professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with great level of initiative, effectively meet set deadlines and adapt to changing requirements.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
  • Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., prolonged sitting, regular walking, bending, standing and reaching.
  • Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged view of a monitor/screen.


Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Tacoma, WA, is $68,000 - 103,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineers' salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
