Positions that serve as the bridge between business and operations computer systems and centralized information services.
The Engineering and Construction Department is filling a position for a Project Management Software Administrator (BSA2). The Engineering and Construction Department is responsible for the design and construction of transit facilities, such as bus and rail stations, bus shelters, park & rides, transit centers, bus garages, rail maintenance facilities, and administrative buildings. The BSA2 will provide support and overall management of Metro Transit's engineering and construction project management software known as Trimble Unity Construct (formerly eBuilder). Additionally, this position will support other department software, technology, data, analytics, and document/content management.
The range of BSA responsibilities and tasks include (but are not limited to): work closely with end users to plan, design, maintain and launch efficient business financial and operations computer systems that support core organizational functions and business processes. Examples of business and operations computer systems include: Trimble (formerly eBuilder), EnergyCap (utility billing reporting software), TxBase, and internal SharePoint sites.
What you would do in this job - Administers and supports department construction management software known as Trimble Unity Construct (formerly eBuilder). Description of duties include:
- Build and maintain e-Builder process workflows
- Administer e-Builder user accounts, roles, and permissions including onboarding/offboarding
- Develop and maintain e-Builder training guides, SOPs, and reference materials
- Resolve e-Builder support requests; track issues and recommend improvements
- Configure new projects in e-Builder including templates, modules, and custom fields
- Support budget tracking in e-Builder's cost module including commitments, and invoices
- Manages content and updates of department SharePoint site which is home to department SOPs, links, forms, important information, etc.
- Develop data and reporting of performance measures to support business needs
- Develops BI reporting tools to support department business needs
- Keeps informed of new technologies and continues to find new ways to integrate innovations and best practices
- Communicates proposed solutions and implementation details of system components to appropriate parties
- Analyzes business processes and procedures to recommend best practices for improving business processes through the use of information systems
- Reads and keeps up to date on business functional areas to understand system requirements
- Performs other related duties
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)Any of the following combinations of progressively responsible experience in management analysis and business systems administration, or related experience in a Business Analyst capacity and closely related experience
AND completed education in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Planning, or closely related field.
- High school diploma/GED with seven (7) years of experience
- Associate's degree with five (5) years of experiences
- Bachelor's degree or higher with three (3) years of experience
- Master's degree with one (1) year of experience
What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):
- Experience working and collaborating in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive environments
- Experience with project or construction management software systems (Trimble, Procore, etc.)
- Experience with BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, R Shiny, etc.)
- Knowledge of effective processes, methods, and techniques to analyze and evaluate business operations
- Knowledge of effective project management principles
- Experience in leading and facilitating meetings with complex and detailed materials
- Skilled at an advanced level in word processing, complex spreadsheets, graphics presentations and database management required (Word, Excel, Visio, Access and Power Point)
- Interest in and enthusiasm for public transit
What knowledge, skills, and abilities you should have within the first six months on the job:
- Knowledge of the transit operations, facility maintenance, sustainability, electric vehicles and charging, and/or deployment of new technologies.
- Knowledge of utility rate and/or financial modeling, energy modeling, charge management software, or other data analysis related to environmental sustainability
- Knowledge of interdepartmental and council wide processes, procedures and requirements with regard to administrative functions such as budgeting, financing and procurement.
