This opportunity resides with Global Security (GS). Mission Technologies' Global Security (GS) group comprises live, virtual, constructive (LVC) solutions; fleet sustainment; nuclear and environmental; and Australia business.

Summary

Join HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat! The Platform Modernization (PM) team is currently looking for a Project Management Analyst. In this role, a person will support C4I project planning and execution by evaluating labor, materials, and technical documentation while tracking cost and schedule performance and managing scope changes. Also, they will ensure compliance with Navy standards, improve PMO workflows, and mentor team members to strengthen overall project consistency. This is a full-time position located in San Diego, CA.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee the evaluation of project labor, materials, subcontractor support, and schedules to ensure bids and awarded work align with program objectives.
  • Interpret and validate technical documents and government drawings, including LARs/RLARs and Conditions Found Reports, to support accurate planning and execution.
  • Build and maintain Excel-based trackers and dashboards that help the team understand cost trends, schedule performance, and overall project status.
  • Review changes to project scope and translate those adjustments into clear cost impacts, schedule updates, and formal change-order documentation.
  • Support C4I contract activities by ensuring project deliverables, reporting requirements, and customer expectations remain on track.
  • Apply Navy POAM standards (9090-310 and 009-060) to daily work to ensure compliance with maintenance and modernization requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes or PMO workflows and contribute to developing more efficient ways of operating.
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to newer team members to help strengthen the team's technical understanding and consistency.


What You Must Have

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Evaluate and interpret labor, material, subcontractor, and schedule details from bid through award.
  • Skilled in reviewing technical government drawings, Liaison Action Requests (LARs/RLARs) and Conditions Found Reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Dashboards for data evaluation and reports.
  • Experience evaluating scope changes, cost and schedule impacts, and preparing documentation for Change Order Request notifications.
  • Experience with C4I defense industry contracts.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access.


Bonus Points For

  • Experienced and knowledgeable in POAM 9090-310 and 009-060 requirements.
  • Skilled in process improvement initiatives and PMO functions.
  • Provided training and support to lower-level staff.
  • A current, active DoD security clearance.


Physical Requirements

Minimal mobility, dexterity, or coordination required to operate common business machines. Maximum lifting required is approximately 40 pounds from floor to three feet in height.
