Job Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Leads projects related to Factory of the Future initiative. Must coordinate with internal and external cross functional teams to ensure smooth implementation of new changes and/or new equipment into the production process within established timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leads all Factory of the Future coordination activities in an extremely organized fashion.
  • Provides guidance to the MSSC cross functional teams ensuring all team objectives are met on time.
  • Uses effective forms of communication regularly to update the team on upcoming activities and current projects.
  • Owns and maintains a detailed and organized project timeline meeting Magna Seatings project development requirements.
  • Writes a thorough and complete S.O.W. (statement of work) to be submitted to management and to purchasing.
  • Ensures communication and approvals through multiple inter-company departments, including advanced engineering, HSE, purchasing, IT, accounting, operations, material and logistics, etc.
  • Develops a testing plan which includes project simulations, live testing, PSHSR, prior to implementation and hand-over to operations.
  • Develops a preventative maintenance plan including spare parts with min/max co-developed with the equipment manufacturer or integrator.
  • Ensures complete communication with I.T. for seamless integration into Magna Seating's IT Infrastructure
  • Ensure PSHSR is complete during project development and during installation phases prior to commissioning any new equipment.
  • Coordinates regular project meetings with all key stakeholders and integrators
  • Coordinates regular reviews to ensure the project equipment is designed to work flawlessly with the company's products
  • Tracks and maintains project budget and reports the tracking/spending to plant finance
  • Actively participates on projects designed to support program requirements, as directed by Factory of the Future management.
  • Organize the training requirements and events for the maintenance, IT, and operations personnel
  • Proposes departmental and/or process improvements to streamline the overall success of the company and success in meeting Factory of the Future project expectations.
  • Other tasks as defined based on department needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong leadership skills, guiding the team in a positive manner but able to hold accountable when needed.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Preferred, but not required,
    • Technical or Business related studies (studying or completed)
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills to work in a team environment to accomplish tasks through positive interaction with others; both internally and externally.
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Office tools - must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Understands problem solving methodologies;
  • Capable of working alone to finish the task.
  • Proven strong organizational skills.
  • Team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible; work any shift schedule according to business needs and able to work outside of normal working hours.
  • Ability to plan and independently prioritize work.
  • A proven record of dependability is required.
  • 5 years of related work experience preferred


Preferred Skills:
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate with suppliers and vendors for favorable terms, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems, MRP software, and other planning tools to streamline processes and data management.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain and Logistics: Understanding of procurement, inventory management, manufacturing processes, and logistics.
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards: Familiarity with industry-specific standards, regulations, and best practices related to supply chain and manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement: Understanding of lean principles and methodologies to optimize inventory and reduce waste.
  • Change Management Skills: Ability to lead and manage change effectively during new product launches or process modifications.
  • Innovation and Creativity: Ability to develop innovative solutions for complex challenges during product launches.
  • Participate in Lessons Learned and Benchmark meetings as scheduled
