Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a
Project Lead opportunity in
Johnson City, TN.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Lead multiple concurrent engineering and design projects supporting DOE facilities, nuclear facilities, and related infrastructure.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design teams, including civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls (I&C), piping, and other technical disciplines.
- Develop and maintain project execution plans, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource requirements.
- Establish project priorities and coordinate resources across multiple projects to meet client commitments and project milestones.
- Serve as a key interface with clients, project managers, engineering leadership, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, technical performance, and deliverable quality and proactively address risks or emerging issues.
- Coordinate preparation, review, approval, and issuance of engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, design packages, technical reports, and other project deliverables.
- Ensure projects are performed in accordance with applicable DOE requirements, nuclear quality expectations, client procedures, codes, standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Support design control, configuration management, document control, change management, and quality assurance processes.
- Identify project risks, technical challenges, resource constraints, and schedule impacts and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Manage scope changes and support development of change requests, estimates, proposals, and schedule adjustments.
- Coordinate interfaces between engineering disciplines and ensure design inputs, assumptions, requirements, and interfaces are clearly defined and documented.
- Support procurement, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and field activities as required.
- Maintain clear project documentation and provide accurate status reporting to clients and company leadership.
- Promote a strong culture of nuclear safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 10+ years of experience supporting engineering, design, construction, or technical projects, preferably within a heavy industrial construction environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and design projects.
- Experience managing multiple projects, work packages, or task orders simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of project scope, schedule, budget, risk, change control, and resource management.
- Experience coordinating engineering deliverables and formal design review processes.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, designers, project controls personnel, quality assurance personnel, clients, subcontractors, and field organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities and manage competing project demands.
