Job DescriptionWe are seeking a
Project Geotechnical Engineer to join our Bay Area team in San Jose, CA. The successful candidate will manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects, working closely with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects
- Interact directly with clients and manage project budgets
- Coordinate and participate in field activities, including:
- Logging borings, test pits, trenches, and cores
- Evaluating geologic and seismic hazards
- Performing forensic evaluations of distressed structures and failed slopes
- Perform engineering analyses, including:
- Foundation design and evaluation
- Slope stability analysis
- Settlement analysis
- Prepare geotechnical engineering proposals and technical reports
- Provide technical support and mentorship to staff engineers, geologists, and field technicians
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- California Professional Engineering (PE) license REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience; experience with a geotechnical consulting firm preferred.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering principles, and subsurface investigation methods.
- Experience with field exploration, soil classification, geotechnical analyses, and report preparation.
- Ability to perform technical calculations and interpret laboratory and field data.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or related engineering discipline preferred.
- Experience with geotechnical software used for slope stability, settlement, liquefaction, and foundation analyses.
- Experience providing construction observation and geotechnical field support services.
- Familiarity with Bay Area geologic and geotechnical conditions.
Additional InformationSalary range: $90,000-110,000/year, depending on qualifications
