Full Job Description
Job Summary

As a Project/Field Engineer, you will be key to our PM/CM team located in Los Angeles, CA and you will support capital projects by providing field engineering, inspection, coordination, and construction administration support.

Job Duties:
  • Serve as the Client's field representative, supporting day-to-day coordination with the contractor, design team, and stakeholders to maintain schedule, quality, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Lead and facilitate regular field and coordination meetings with the contractor and design team; document key decisions, action items, and follow-ups for the Client's project management team.
  • Perform field inspections to verify construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports, maintain progress documentation, and provide clear, timely updates to the Client's project management team.
  • Review and process submittals, RFIs, and field change requests; coordinate responses with the design team and track resolution to support construction progress.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify potential risks or conflicts, and proactively coordinate solutions with the project team.
  • Support verification of quantities, review of contractor pay applications, and general cost and schedule tracking.
  • Coordinate with utilities, third parties, and adjacent stakeholders to support construction activities and minimize operational impacts.
  • Assist with testing and commissioning, punch list development, and project closeout documentation.
  • Provide additional project engineering, inspection, and construction support services as needed to support the Client and related assignments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (EIT preferred; PE a plus).
  • 3-8+ years of experience supporting rail, transit, transportation, or heavy civil capital projects in a field engineering, inspection, or project engineering capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as an owner/client representative, contractor, or working directly with public agencies (e.g., LA Metro, Metrolink, Caltrans, or local agencies) on active construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, contract documents, and change management processes.
  • Experience using Bluebeam, Procore, Unifier, or similar construction management software platforms.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface confidently with contractors, designers, agency staff, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple filed locations and priorities in a fast-paced capital program environment.
  • Valid Driver's license and ability to perform site visits in active construction environments.


Compensation and Benefits:
  • Base Salary - $60.00-$75.00/hour DOE.
