Position Description

The Project Executive will support one or more transportation projects to provide guidance and leadership to the project delivery team throughout the lifecycle of the project, including the procurement and execution phases. The Project Executive will play a key role in ensuring that a disciplined and effective approach is being implemented for transportation projects with the goal of delivering successful project outcomes, both internally and externally.

The Project Executive will also be responsible for supporting the NY/NJ Transportation Manager in the strategic planning and development of initiatives aimed at achieving growth and performance objectives established for the NY/NJ Area Manager.

Position Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of the Project Executive relative to projects include:
• Networking with clients and strategic partners to identify upcoming opportunities in both design and construction management.
• Evaluating potential opportunities and determining appropriate courses of action, including performance go / no go analysis and evaluation of alternative positioning, such as serving as Owner's representative, etc.
• Coordinating the development of design teams, including key staff designation and selection of key subconsultants / teaming partners.
• Overseeing the project delivery team during the Statement of Qualifications and Technical Proposal development phases to implement effective and appropriate measures necessary to develop a competitive, high quality proposal that manages risk exposure.
• Overseeing the project delivery team during the Execution phase to implement effective project delivery techniques and deliver successful project performance while managing risk exposure.
• Serving as Executive liaison between the project delivery team and the Client during Execution phases.
• Conducting frequent management reviews during the Execution phase, both internally and externally, to foster communication and enhance successful project delivery.
• Assisting the project delivery team in the development and implementation of an effective change management program.
• Interfacing with the project delivery team and the Client in the resolution of issues that cannot be resolved at the project level.

Primary responsibilities of the Project Executive relative to programmatic strategic planning include:
• Developing and implementing strategic initiatives to support the growth and effectiveness of the transportation group.
• Contributing to development of a strategic growth plan and vision for the transportation group.
• Assisting in identification of staff needs and participation in recruitment efforts.
• Providing mentorship to staff.
• Fostering communication among key staff via regularly scheduled conference calls and/or face-to-face meetings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 15 years related experience
  • A minimum 7 years project management experience
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
