Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Project Environmental Professional to manage and execute environmental assessment, investigation, and compliance projects. This role combines technical expertise, project management, client interaction, and staff mentorship in support of a diverse portfolio of environmental consulting projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage and conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in accordance with ASTM standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead environmental investigations involving soil, groundwater, vapor intrusion, and hazardous materials assessments.
- Establish project objectives, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and performance standards.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams during field investigations and environmental assessments.
- Conduct and oversee site reconnaissance, soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, and air monitoring activities.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, laboratories, vendors, and field personnel.
- Analyze environmental data and prepare technical reports, work plans, proposals, and other project deliverables.
- Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, property owners, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior environmental professionals and field staff.
- Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, client relationship management, and identification of new project opportunities.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience conducting environmental assessments, investigations, and consulting projects.
- At least 1 year of experience managing project budgets, schedules, and technical staff.
- Strong knowledge of Phase I ASTM E1527-21 and Phase II ASTM E1903 environmental assessment standards.
- Experience preparing technical reports, work plans, and environmental deliverables.
- Strong technical writing, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience mentoring and training junior staff.
- Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as ASTM Environmental Professional (EP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Professional Engineer (PE), Geologist-in-Training (GIT), Registered Geologist (RG), Professional Geologist (PG), Project Management Professional (PMP), EPA Lead Inspector, EPA Lead Risk Assessor, AHERA Building Inspector, or AHERA Management Planner.
- Experience supporting public agencies, municipalities, utilities, industrial facilities, and private-sector clients.
- Experience performing industrial hygiene services, including asbestos, lead-based paint, indoor air quality, and mold assessments.
- Previous environmental consulting experience with responsibility for staff oversight, project management, and client development.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
