Job Summary: Responsible for managing multiple, mid-size concurrent projects while leveraging current engineering processes. May also serve in any role on assigned large capital projects. You may be based at a manufacturing facility. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
  • Manages all aspects of engineering projects from feasibility through start-up for new equipment, processes, procedures, systems, including scoping, financial assessment, project handoff / support
  • Develops, manages, leads implementation of one or more capital projects (scope, timing, cost); focuses on process improvements, innovation, new processing lines, production facilities, and productivity / capacity improvements
  • Develops project charters; ensures project objectives, scope, rationale, and success criteria are adequately defined, documented, and approved in writing by key stakeholders prior to commencement of work and budget expenditures
  • Plans / manages project budgets and detailed cash flow with estimation of project final cost
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure shared goals are met; engages with senior leadership on project updates, reporting
  • Defines roles, responsibilities, goals, deliverables for core team / extended team members; with oversight from Director and Senior Project Managers, identifies needs and negotiates with functional managers for adequate project team staffing
  • Facilitates creation of a bottom up / top-down project schedule and budget; continually monitors / maintains / revises project schedules
  • Works on ad hoc strategic projects that aid senior management's decision-making
  • Responsible for website administration
  • Determines / agrees on project needs (e.g., project type, schedule, budget, special quality requirements)
  • Assembles / manages project team, including H-E-B Partners and external consultants
  • Develops / negotiates / implements / administers contracts
  • Monitors project progress and quality; directs activities of internal / external Partners and vendors
  • Prepares project status reports; keeps management, clients, others informed of project status / related issues
  • Applies change management principles / communication tools to manage scope adjustments; ensures changes are consistent with overall strategy, project charter's objectives, timing, and budget
  • Responsible for SOP documentation, training, communication, observation program, and standards manuals
  • Coordinates with other functional disciplines (architectural, MEPR, civil, landscape, structural, etc.) for integration with current manufacturing standards, QA, Operations, and regulatory agencies
  • Reads / reviews construction documents for accuracy and content; edits / revises drawings, manually, electronically
  • Research / develops / proposes appropriate new project
  • Coordinates capital budget process between plant leaders, Corporate office
  • Reviews / analyzes capital budget submissions; summarizes them; incorporates into Mfg Division totals
  • Consistently reviews capital expenditures for actual to budget data, reviews accuracy of plans to expenditures
  • Performs fixed asset reconciliations to ensure correct annual depreciation expense and proper lifetime investment for ROI calculations
  • Designs / develops capital budget tools

    • 2+ years Experience in a technical role in a food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, personal care, or similar industry - Required
    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles - Required
    • Advanced skills in MS Office applications, mainframe applications (e.g., E-mail, TSO, XPTR, CICS, OMI, IMS, PeopleSoft), and AXAPTA - Required
    • Advanced organization skills - Required
    • Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills - Required
    • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills - Required
    • Ability to manage large-scale projects from conception to implementation - Required
    • Ability to work effectively with little supervision; highly independent / flexible setting priorities - Required
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks / projects - Required
    • Ability to collaboratively lead / influence stakeholders cross-functionally - Required
    Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering or related field - Preferred
    Licenses/Certifications:
