Could you be the full-time Project Engineering Manager in Toronto, ON, we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering and system integration expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and dynamic teammates.

You'll play a central role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada's busiest public transit system while ensuring the successful delivery of world-class solutions. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (System Deployment & Integration, Corridor Sub-Systems, and Engineering), manage technical risks, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and much more.

You'll specifically take care of system architecture, integration of sub-systems, and configuration management, but also lead technical activities to achieve delivery of the ETCS on board on time and get customer acceptance.

We'll look to you for:
  • Managing the technical contractual scope of the project in collaboration with the customer.
  • Ensuring performance and customer acceptance of the project solution.
  • Leading the deployment of the project solution and coordinating system activities until final acceptance.
  • Overseeing risk management and mitigation plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.
  • Driving the engineering strategy and chairing the Project Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Managing interfaces between sub-systems and third parties.
  • Coordinating the engineering team and allocating tasks effectively.
  • Supporting knowledge capitalization and promoting continuous learning within the team.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related scientific field.
  • P. Eng certification or in progress.
  • Experience in project deployment across the full lifecycle, including commissioning.
  • At least 5 years of experience working on rolling stock and/or signalling on board projects in a technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with functional or hierarchical team management.
  • Cost and planning control expertise within an engineering scope.
  • Strong customer relationship management in contractual settings.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
  • Experience in product development and understanding of urban and mainline market segments (desirable).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset.

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
