Job DescriptionSaylor Consulting Group is seeking a full-time
Project Engineer in San Francisco to support our client San Francisco International Airport's Boarding Area G Gate Enhancements Contract as a member of the "Project Management Support Services" (PMSS) team. Candidate will be involved in the testing, commissioning & activation of all technical systems on the project, including but not limited to: electrical, low-voltage, HVAC, jet bridge and plumbing systems.
The ability to work in an in-person capacity is required, with the individual required to be onsite at the airport's offices as directed.
Duties- Input real-time Project data into the Airport-provided Project Management System, Unifier.
- Perform quality control in Unifier real-time data entry to reduce input error, thus enhancing consistency and accuracy in the reporting of all information.
- Assist in maintaining systems for the efficient distribution of Project documents to Design-Builder, external agencies, other City departments, and other stakeholders as directed.
- Assist in maintain status logs of Project documents, including, but not limited to, design activities and status, requests for information, submittals, and substitution requests.
- Participate in the Structured Collaborative Partnering process as described in the Delivering Exceptional Projects: Our Guiding Principles document
- Assist in preparation of the technical Cx specifications for incorporation into the Contract Documents by the design-builder, using the templates provided in the CAS Standards.
- Perform technical reviews of project design documents.
- Leverage the expertise of various subject matter experts hired by the design-builder to commission the Sustainability and Airport systems through the CAS process.
- Assist in developing and implementing the Cx Plan(s) that identifies the equipment and systems required to be commissioned to proceed with Activation and Simulation activities, using the template provided in the CAS Standards.
- Witness system start-up and testing.
- Prepare and maintain the Cx Issues Log.
- Provide a conduit for communication and coordination with Airport stakeholders and ensure the Airport's interests are addressed throughout the CAS process.
- Prepare and manage Activation checklists.
- Prepare a matrix of projected Airport stakeholder CAS participation to provide a projection of resource needs for the project.
- Assist in preparing and coordinating operational trials to demonstrate how Airport personnel can operate systems and processes during normal, irregular, and emergency conditions.
- Lead Activation lessons learned session and prepare the report.
- Assist in coordination of work with all ongoing Airport activities and other adjacent or coordinated projects.
- Assist the Airport Project Manager in gathering information for and responding to internal and external audits of the Project and modify and implement processes to address any findings from such audits.
- Assist in preparation of reports, exhibits, and presentation materials to present the Project as the Airport Project Manager requested.
- Assist in the preparation of daily construction reports.
Minimum Qualifications- Position requires a minimum of 2 years' recent experience in construction.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Low voltage electrical knowledge is desirable.
- 5 Years of experience in project engineering for design or construction projects.
- Experience with Design-Build procurement methods preferred.
- Experience with Primavera, MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam and Unifier.
