Full Job Description
Position Overview:

As a PT Project Engineer, you will lead powertrain projects from concept through product release and manufacturing using the Polaris Product Development Process. Guiding cross-functional teams, this role establishes project requirements, directs execution across multiple engineering sites, and maintains alignment with strategic goals. You manage project plans, resources, budgets, risks, decisions, approvals, and performance communications throughout the development lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to influence powertrain strategy and provide leadership across large or multiple engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead powertrain projects from concept through manufacturing and product release, taking responsibility for the overall success of the Polaris Product Development Process.
• Establish, document, and communicate clear project requirements and expectations at the start of each program.
• Lead cross-functional teams and strategic initiatives to deliver results aligned with project and organizational goals.
• Develop and oversee project execution plans, monitor progress, identify risks, and maintain momentum toward program objectives.
• Coordinate and direct resources across Powertrain and product group engineering sites.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to facilitate critical decisions, secure approvals, and resolve issues affecting project execution.
• Identify and secure required project resources while supporting functional managers with budget planning and workforce forecasts.
• Manage project budgets, report financial performance, and participate in monthly financial reviews with Engineering management.
• Prepare and deliver clear, concise project status and performance communications to audiences across all levels of the organization, including senior leaders and executives.
• Collaborate with suppliers to incorporate their design expertise when appropriate.
• Foster an accountable, high-performing team environment that motivates cross-functional contributors and supports program success.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• At least 2 years of program leadership or engineering project leadership experience in a similar industry.
• Strong technical background with the ability to translate vehicle-level attributes into actionable project definitions and early-stage initiatives.
• Demonstrated project planning, organizational, and administrative skills, including experience managing project requirements, resources, budgets, risks, and schedules.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and develop effective working relationships with managers, leaders, employees, and suppliers.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, work effectively under pressure, maintain a constructive approach, and advance projects while supporting quality and customer expectations.
• Experience presenting to and interacting with senior leaders and executives.
• Strong interest in powersports products, including motorcycles, off-road vehicles, and snowmobiles.
• Ability to travel 10-25% throughout the year, domestically and internationally.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $80,000 to $95,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.

To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
