Hazen and Sawyer is seeking mid-level engineers for our South Florida Offices for a variety of water-related assignments in various engineering disciplines (e.g., Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Structural, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:- Participation in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and infrastructure projects
- Participating in a project team from the initial study and conceptual design stages through to the construction of major water related infrastructure projects
- Fieldwork and site visits from design through construction may be required
- Other responsibilities may include:
- Project management of a large project or several small projects
- Client development and management supported by our local offices
- Planning, organizing, and supervising staff of engineers on projects
Required Qualifications: - PE license (FL preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment)
- 5-10 years of experience in planning, design, or construction of water-related projects
- Experience related to preparing conceptual/feasibility studies, development of construction drawings and specifications, bidding assistance, and support of office and field-related construction services
- Familiarity with engineering and construction management software
- Capable of supervising staff and managing small projects
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, and be capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Proficiency in computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills
- B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. program (other engineering degrees considered case by case)
- Proficiency in GIS, CAD/BIM, BioWin, PowerBI, and other software
