About the JobJob Summary:We are seeking a
Project Engineer with strong experience in
H&H to support our civil infrastructure projects. This role will focus on stormwater management, drainage design, floodplain analysis, and hydraulic modeling for transportation, public infrastructure, and municipal projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of
hydraulic modeling software, watershed management, and regulatory compliance to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for water movement challenges.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater drainage systems, floodplain analysis, and roadway drainage.
- Develop drainage reports, stormwater management plans, and flood impact analyses for transportation and other public infrastructure projects.
- Design stormwater conveyance systems, detention basins, culverts, channels, and levees in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Utilize ArcGIS Pro, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, XP-SWMM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D for hydraulic and hydrologic analysis.
- Conduct floodplain mapping, risk assessments, and mitigation planning using FEMA and NFIP guidelines.
- Collaborate with public agencies, regulatory bodies, and clients to ensure project compliance and approvals.
- Prepare and review technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Support senior project managers in developing proposals, budgets, and schedules.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in hydrology & hydraulics engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or, if you've got the experience, then the ability to obtain in the near future).
- Strong proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and XP-SWMM.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with stormwater drainage design, floodplain mapping, and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of FEMA floodplain regulations, DOT drainage design standards, and municipal stormwater policies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and ability to work in a team environment.
