We are seeking a
Heavy Civil Project Engineer to join the team supporting large-scale infrastructure projects throughout the Southwest. This field-focused role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced construction leaders on complex civil projects while building a long-term path toward Project Management and leadership.
What You'll Do as the Heavy Civil Project Engineer:- Support day-to-day execution of large-scale heavy civil and infrastructure construction projects
- Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and schedule management
- Coordinate field operations with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and crews
- Track daily production and maintain accurate project documentation
- Review construction plans, specifications, and technical documents
- Support quality control efforts and help identify constructability improvements
- Manage submittals, material procurement tracking, and project records
- Participate in project meetings and communicate project updates to stakeholders
- Help resolve field challenges and maintain project momentum
- Promote safe work practices and support overall project compliance efforts
Must-Haves as the Heavy Civil Project Engineer:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in construction engineering, field engineering, project coordination, estimating, or project support roles
- Understanding of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and construction operations
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced construction environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively and work on project sites
Nice-to-Haves as the Heavy Civil Project Engineer:- Heavy civil construction experience
- Highway, DOT, bridge, utility, earthwork, or infrastructure project experience
- Exposure to drilling and blasting operations
- Experience supporting federal construction projects
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, HCSS, HeavyJob, or On-Screen Takeoff (OST)
- Experience working in remote or geographically dispersed project environments
- Interest in advancing into Project Management leadership roles
