Full Job Description
Join our team as a Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer, where you'll play a hands-on role in delivering innovative engineering solutions that support critical gas infrastructure. In this role, you'll work on gas distribution and gas transmission systems with a focus on gas facility design, including pressure regulator stations, gas metering, line heaters, odorant injection, liquid separators, automated valves, monitoring alarms and instrumentation. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams while continuing to build your technical expertise in an environment that values learning, innovation, and teamwork. Size, specify and select engineered equipment from OEM suppliers and integrate into a comprehensive design package tailored to meet client specifications and industry standards.

As a Project Engineer, you'll take ownership of projects from initiation through construction and in-servicing support. You'll work directly with clients to understand their needs, define requirements, and develop optimized engineering solutions. You'll guide the progressive design process, developing issued-for-review (IFR) and issued-for-bid (IFB) packages while incorporating stakeholder feedback along the way. You'll be responsible for providing quality oversight in compliance with ENTRUST ISO 9001 procedures and collaborating with CAD design teams to translate concepts into detailed, high-quality engineering drawings.

This is an interactive, client-facing role where you'll stay engaged through regular meetings, field site visits, calls, and ongoing communication, while also supporting construction kickoff and execution and occasionally visiting job sites. With a hybrid schedule that includes time working in our Centennial, CO office, this role is ideal for engineers who enjoy both technical design work and seeing their projects come to life in the real world. Project engineers are responsible for providing functional design practices and specifying components that meet or exceed Federal, State and municipal codes and standard while also meeting client standards and expectations. Mentor junior engineers and distribute tasks to enhance their learning development while keeping project milestones on schedule. Construction support in drafting field procedures for gas system clearances, testing and tie-in and acting as person in charge to coordinate safe execution of bringing new facilities online is a requirement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in gas utility engineering, facility design, or related infrastructure.
  • Excellent client facing communication skills and comfort working directly with stakeholders from multiple disciplines.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams such as Project Management, design, drafting and project controls.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or willingness to achieve within 6 months
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages innovation.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career development.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, and flexible work schedules.
  • This position pays between $90,000 and $120,000 annually (commensurate with experience) and is an exempt position. Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually.
